Product & Features
Which company sizes is Temporalis EMS suitable for?
Our focus is on mid-sized companies with 20 to 500 employees — especially agencies, consultancies, law firms, and IT service providers. Smaller teams from 5 people can also get started, and very large organizations are served through our Enterprise module with dedicated infrastructure.
Which modules are included?
Temporalis EMS is an integrated system with four modules: Time Tracking (incl. absences), Project and Task Management (Kanban, budgets, utilization), HR (personnel files, contracts, onboarding), and Finance/Controlling (cost centers, revenue, KPIs). Which modules are unlocked depends on the plan you choose.
Do you support remote and hybrid teams?
Yes, fully. The platform is web-based and requires no local installation. Time tracking, vacation requests, and approvals work from anywhere, and time zones are handled correctly per user.
Is there a mobile app?
We currently rely on a responsive web app that works flawlessly on smartphones and tablets — including mobile time tracking. A native iOS and Android app is on our roadmap but hasn't been released yet.
Which browsers are supported?
All modern browsers in their two latest major versions: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer is not supported. For best performance, we recommend Chromium-based browsers.

Pricing & Billing
How is billing handled?
We bill per active user per month. Payments are processed via Stripe, either by credit card or SEPA direct debit. Invoices are generated automatically and sent by email.
Is there a minimum term?
No. The monthly plan can be canceled monthly to the end of the month. If you pay annually, you get a 15% discount and have a 12-month term that ends automatically if no renewal is requested.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
Nothing automatic. We don't require a credit card for the trial, and no subscription is created unless you actively choose a plan. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you decide to start later.
Do you offer non-profit discounts?
Yes. Registered non-profit organizations receive a 30% discount on all plans. We need one-time proof (tax exemption certificate or equivalent); after that, the discount is applied permanently to your invoices.
Do you offer educational discounts?
Yes — universities, universities of applied sciences, and comparable educational institutions receive a 50% discount. Here too, one-time proof of the institution is enough; after that, the discount applies permanently.

Privacy & Compliance
Where is my data stored?
Exclusively in Germany. Our core services run on Hetzner in the Falkenstein and Nürnberg data centers. In regular operation, the data does not leave German jurisdiction.
Is Temporalis EMS GDPR-compliant?
Yes. We follow European privacy standards, provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR, and document our technical and organizational measures (TOMs).
How long is data retained?
As long as your subscription is active — plus a 30-day grace period after cancellation during which you can still export your data. After that, all data is permanently and verifiably deleted. Your own statutory retention obligations are not affected by this.
Can I export my data?
Yes, at any time. Master and transactional data can be exported as JSON or CSV — no vendor lock-in. Specific areas such as time tracking and bookings additionally offer dedicated exports (e.g. DATEV).
Which sub-processors do you use?
We deliberately use few sub-processors — and exclusively EU-based ones. You'll find a complete, transparent list (Hetzner, Mailjet, Cal.com, Stripe) in the Trust Center.

Tech & Integration
Do you offer an API?
Yes. Temporalis EMS has a documented REST API that can be used for integrations (accounting, HR systems, BI tools). API access is available from the Professional plan onwards.
Do you support Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Yes. We support OpenID Connect (OIDC) — currently via Keycloak. This enables integration with common identity providers like Azure AD, Google Workspace, or Okta. SSO is included from the Professional plan onwards.
Is there a DATEV export?
Yes, a DATEV-compliant export is available from the Professional plan and is being continuously extended. Contact us if you have specific requirements for the export format or account mappings.
Can I run Temporalis EMS on-premise?
Yes, this is only possible on the Enterprise plan. We deliver a Docker Compose-based installation and support setup and operations in your own infrastructure.
Which authentication methods are available?
By default, email and password with optional two-factor authentication. From Professional, additionally OIDC/SSO. On the Enterprise plan also LDAP and Active Directory for integration with existing directory services.

Migration & Onboarding
How do I migrate data from other tools?
For master data (employees, clients, projects) we offer a CSV import with a mapping assistant. For more complex migrations — for instance from existing HR or ERP systems — our team supports you with analysis, mapping, and import.
How long does onboarding take?
Depending on size and complexity, onboarding typically takes two to four weeks. Smaller teams are often productive within a few days; for larger organizations with many integrations we plan longer phases accordingly.
Do you train our team?
Yes. From Professional, self-service onboarding with structured tutorials and video guides is included. The Enterprise plan adds an individual workshop that we run either remotely or on-site.
Is there a sandbox environment?
Every tenant is fully isolated and can be tested as its own environment. For larger customers, we can set up a separate staging environment on request, where configurations and imports can be tried out without risk.
